Major responsibilities of a Barista

  • Manages and provides full barista/ coffee and tea services
  • Executes smooth and efficient service of hot and cold beverage operation ensuring that the diner coffee hubs operate in line with the set standards
  • Ensures the beverage stations are fully equipped for service, all items are well stocked and organized, and compliant as per food safety standards.
  • Portrays passion for specialty coffee making and display artful performance of coffee services while interacting with customers in a high paced large volume operation retail setting.
    Key Accountabilities & Activities

    ·       Oversees all aspect of the beverage/coffee service  area

    ·       Ensures all beverages are prepared as per standard recipes and menu specifications.

    ·       All barista activities to be delivered with exceptional service, high quality and appealing set up.

    ·       Maintains high speed and efficiency in preparation of coffee and beverages.

    ·       Displays strong product knowledge of coffee and specialty coffee beverages.

    ·       Makes recommendations and suggestions for coffee related beverages.

    ·       Understands how to operate various types of machines, manual, semi-automatic, fully automatic.

    ·       Explores new inventions and proposes to management coffee trends and seasonal coffee beverages.

    ·       Ensures beverage/coffee program is introduced with applicable standards and recipes.

    ·       Trains the team and monitors beverage station performance

    ·       Strictly abides by the food safety policies of company and client.

    ·       Ability to work under pressure and able to manage high stress environments.

    ·       Prepares all MEP according to the business volume and maintains adequate stock and area clean and always organized.

    ·       Operates if required soft serve and other ice cream machines.

    ·       Operates hot water, hot chocolate, and filter coffee industrial machines.

    ·       Ensures that all equipment is checked regularly to avoid breakdowns.‎

    ·       Ensures efficiency and maintenance of the coffee machine and report any machine and equipment defects to ensure no interruption of services.

    ·       Adheres to proper labeling practices and all food safety standards.

    ·       Practices and be seen to be practicing good customer relation skills.

    ·       Ensures that all areas highly visible customer areas a clean and organized.
